Immune system and self-healing : secret to good health and longevity |
When we want good health and long life, we should first consider what contributes to good health and longevity. If we want to use a well-conditioned car anytime we want to, we should maintain it through regular oil change and by fixing even minor troubles immediately. This can be likened to a human society where there are disciplined policemen and soldiers in good spirit and all the members of society are cooperating each other to create a great and harmonious society. Similarly, we can maintain optimum health through an enhancement of our immune system and self-healing capacity and by maintaining good physical health so achieved with proper exercise and healthy lifestyle. Information on proper exercise and healthy lifestyle that are conducive to good health can be obtained from various sources. |
Lungs : managing the immune system and self-healing capacity |
In oriental medicine, the key to the health of the human body is called "vital energy" which stems from actively functioning lungs. The lungs manage the energy of the human body and serve as a venue for energy exchange with nature. The fact that a human being, a part of nature, gets the required energy to sustain its life from nature is a very natural phenomenon. Therefore, to obtain the vital energy to the full extent, we first have to make our lungs fully functional, thus providing our body with as much nature's energy as possible. When the body is filled with nature's energy, its immune system is enhanced, and its self?healing capacity improved. |

Tonsils: the base camp of phagocytosis |
Leucocytes and lymphocytes form the core of our body¡¯s immune system. This is because they eliminate harmful bacteria in our body through phagocytosis. Leucocytes trigger phagocytosis while circulating throughout the body onboard the blood vessels, much like a cop patrolling the streets. Together, lymphocytes fortify the key points like troops at the front line. Like lymphocytes, tonsils can be compared to military troops fortifying the key points. Most contagious germs infiltrate the gullet and airway through water or air. With the tonsils as a base camp, lymphocytes reinforce the key points together with good bacteria to prevent germs from infecting our body. Healthy tonsils prevent colds, bronchitis, sore throat, and pneumonia as well as tonsillitis. |
The health of tonsils varies depending on persons. |
The important task of tonsils has been regarded lightly for a long time in modern medical science. Worse, there was eventhis belief that tonsillectomy. like appendectomy, protects health since it prevents the occurrence of other diseases. However, even if severely swollen tonsils make breathing difficult, tonsillectomy should be the last resort. Contrary to popular belief, healthy tonsils do not necessarily mean that they are not swollen because the health of tonsils vary from individual to individual. If tonsils were to be graded, tonsils that are frequently swollen would get 50% or a failing mark, those that are swollen and irritated twice or thrice a year, 70%, and those that effectively help prevent tonsillitis, colds, bronchitis, and pneumonia, 100%. If a person suffers from tonsillitis it means that pneumonia germs have infiltrated his or her tonsil, battling it out with lymphocytes. Healthy tonsils should be able to eliminate the enemy at the oral or nasal cavity. |

Long ignored in modern medical science, tonsils take the spotlight with Pyunkangtang. |

Immune system and self-healing capacity as the wings of life |
All living creatures have an immune system that fights germs while maintaining the current state and the self-healing capacity that regenerates damaged tissues. Although these two seem independent from each other, they are not quite separable. The immune system is in fact indispensable for the self-healing capacity. Earlier, I compared leucocytes and lymphocytes to policemen and soldiers that not only fight the enemy but also contribute to the restoration of society after a crisis. Therefore, an enhanced immune system means improved self-healing capacity at the same time. |

Finding a cure for rhinitis |
In general, rhinitis occurs when the immune system and the self-healing capacity are not sufficient. Finding a cure for this disease has been the subject of pharmaceutical research worldwide for a long time now. Despite excellent human resources and substantial investment in research, an effective antibiotics or antiphlogistic agent is yet to be discovered. Although a number of local pharmaceutical companies imported utensils like sprayers, they could only provide immediate relief or prevent the onset of asthma attack. Actually, there is no known treatment or cure for rhinitis. |

Cure coryza and rhinitis with Pyunkangtang. |
Under this circumstance, I believe my extensive clinical experience would be of some help to you. in For a long time, I used to issue prescriptions with a reference to Dongeuibogam (an old Korean book on oriental medicine) in treating rhinitis. But they offered only a temporary relief rather than treating the disease. . Then one day, it just occurred to me, "Might not Pyunkangtang be effective in curing rhinitis?" Since rhinitis is like coryza that lasts for 365 days, I wondered whether colds could be prevented by strengthening the tonsils. And the thought proved right and quite effective. Earlier, I mentioned how Pyunkangtang strengthens tonsils and prevents colds as well as tonsillitis. But what could be the relationship between tonsillitis and colds? If tonsils were a base camp of phagocytosis which can be likened to an army division in size, the lymphocytes can be likened to a regiment that is stationed in the nose. Therefore, when the parental tonsils are strong, the regiment in the nose is also reinforced, ¡°pulverizing¡± the rhinitis. The symptoms of rhinitis vary, including sneezing and clogged or dried nose. Sometimes, the phlegm is swallowed unconsciously when it reaches the pharynx. People don't feel inconvenience until they get sick during a change in season, at times contracting atopic dermatitis as well. After the onslaught of rhinitis, ozena or tympanitis usually follows.Since rhinitis is hereditary, the occurrence rate among children is higher when one of the parents has rhinitis. Since the nose is connected with the eyes, ear, and paranasal sinus, inflammation can easily occur. Still, rhinitis can be prevented if the tonsils are healthy. |

Curing rhinitis by strengthening tonsils with Pyunkangtang |
An 11-year old boy showed severe symptoms of rhinitis including sneezing and clogged nose. He also snored loudly. After his tonsils were strengthened by Pyunkangtang, however, his body became receptive to other medicines, and the sneezing and snoring stopped. The patient¡¯s father also suffered from rhinitis and experienced sneezing. With a small dosage of Pyunkangtang, however, he rapidly recovered. There are many cases wherein rhinitis is cured completely due to tonsils strengthened with Pyunkangtang. In my next piece, I hope to explain the principle behind Pyunkangtang¡¯s efficacy in aiding health and treating other diseases. |
